Black Friday is a day of discounts and online sales. It’s an American import which has grown dramatically over the past few years and this year it falls on 23rd November.

Some retailers will start their week as of Monday November 19th and on the day many will open as early as 6am although the best deals can be found online when they go live at midnight. Is this something you can do?

Recent years have seen a complete change with customers staying away from the high street and doing all their shopping online. That just set the UK on course for the biggest online shopping day in its history, with some of the nation’s biggest retailers struggling to cope with the volume of online retail orders. The websites of John Lewis, Argos, Boots, Tesco and Game all crashed or suffered from slow loading pages. So make sure that your website is up to date and ready!

Here are some suggestions of what you can do:

1. Make sure website has your full range of available products uploaded.

2. Create your Black Friday offer – something simple, like a large discount if ordered on Black Friday or a really great giveaway – could you partner with someone?

3. Plan your social media around the offer – use a social media dashboard such as Hootsuite to plan your messages upfront.
